Designers and Curators run into situations where the client or the trustees in any project will wrestle for control over it. This situation is inevitable due to money, and resources being invested by them and we as curators and designers must find a way to either manage these expectations or the result is madness.
Clearly the creators of my Little-Pony know this feeling. The response is not to fall into despair, but help our clients understand that we are not an extension of photoshop or a hammer and that when we are given a project, it is because of our expertise. Most clients will understand and stand back. The others… well you can’t win them all, but you can discourage it by pointing out how the budget balloons with every “suggestion”
